Hi y’all! My name is Anna Fanning. I’m originally from Huntsville, AL and am currently based in Jackson, MS where I teach Theatre at Ida B. Wells Performing Arts Center. I received my MFA in Theatre with a concentration in Acting from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2025, and my BA in English with a minor in Theatre from the University of Alabama in 2021. I’m an educator, actor, singer, mover, escape room enthusiast, cat mother, and houseplant lover. I’ve loved theatre and performance for as long as I can remember, and I feel so lucky to be sharing my passions with a fabulous group of young people in grades 4-12. I completed my graduate thesis project, I Will Be Mistress of Myself: An Analysis of Elinor Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility in April of 2025 while at USM. Since joining the team at Wells PAC, I have had the opportunity to direct a show for high school competition, Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again., which won second place in the state; as well as teaching stage and film acting, movement, character and script analysis, and supervising numerous other productions. I love teaching, but I am also always looking to expand my performance resumé and continuing to learn so I can share my knowledge with my students!
